PEC poll agenda
WITH the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) getting ready for its elections, it is crucial to prioritise the concerns of young engineers across the country. Instead of signing discount deals with high-end restaurants, the council should, for ins- tance, negotiate with Microsoft to provide registered copies of the latest Windows operating system and MS Office suite to all registered engineers.
As such, the council needs to enhance its collaboration with emerging artificial intelligence (AI) companies, and enter into agreements with digital libraries. These and other such demands represent the genuine needs of young engineers. Providing them with modern tools and software will enable them to excel in their respective fields.
The community of engineers has been facing a myriad of issues, like recession and lack of employment, and it is vital that the new PEC body focuses on taking genuine steps to facilitate its members.
