Inaugural Hub Auto-Cross Rally held

KARACHI: The Hub Rally Auto-Cross Race made its debut in Karachi today, expanding from its successful run in Balochistan.

The event, hosted at DHA City, saw participation from 65 drivers from across the country, including two women.

In the Pre-Prepared A category, Taimur Minwala took first place in 1:02 minutes, with Faraz Sherwani and Umar Khan finishing second and third, respectively.

Syed Hamza won the Pre-Prepared B category — earning the Fastest Time of the Day (FTD) title, covering a distance of 1.7 kilometers in 58.28 seconds and received a prize of Rs100,000. He was followed by Omar Khoro and Shamiq Syed in second and third.

Uzair Magsi secured first place in the Pre-Prepared C category in 1:04 minutes, with Jafar Magsi and Bilal Tahir taking second and third places.

The Stock categories saw Mohammad Waqas, Ghazanfar Agha, Talha Bin Azhar, and Shaveer Jatoi claim first positions in Stock A, B, C, and D categories, respectively. In the Ladies’ event, Fatima Binte Azhar from Lahore achieved first place, with Dina Patel and Bisma finishing second and third.

Winners in all categories were awarded 25,000 rupees each.

Sindh governor Kamran Khan Tessori, who had previously suggested holding the rally in Karachi, expressed satisfaction with the event’s success and confirmed that it will now be an annual event in the city, a press release said.
