KARACHI: A large number of cyclists participated in a fundraiser on Sunday for underserved thalassemia patients at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

The event, titled ‘Bike-a-Cause’, was organised by the Patients’ Aid Foundation (PAF) in partnership with Faysal Bank Limited (FBL). It began from the Sindhi Muslim Housing Society roundabout and concluded at the JPMC.

Vibrant Karachi Cyclists community rode in solidarity towards the JPMC, showing their support for the Patients’ Aid Foundation’s mission of delivering quality healthcare to those in need.

According to the organisers, the funds raised will help marginalised thalassemia patients receive free, high-quality treatment at JPMC.

PAF chairman Mushtaq Chhapra expressed his gratitude for the event’s success, stating: “Bike-a-Cause is more than just a cycling event. It’s a movement that unites the community in the pursuit of better healthcare for all. This event underscores the power of collective effort to ensure that patients at Jinnah Hospital receive the best possible care.”

It may be noted that the Patients’ Aid Foundation has been instrumental in transforming the JPMC into a state-of-the-art hospital, offering modern healthcare facilities to economically disadvantaged patients nationwide, completely free of charge.
