ISLAMABAD: Four suspects stabbed a man during a robbery in the capital, police said on Monday.

A complaint lodged by Wajid Ali, a driver by profession, has been registered with Banigala police station under section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Police said four people, armed with weapons, raided the house of Ayaz Hussain Bukhari at approximately 1:45am when the driver was sleeping in the garage. The security guard and waiter were inside the security room and house respectively, they added.

The suspects entered the garage and snatched a mobile from the driver. They locked the security guard in the security room, police said, adding that later they wrapped the face of the driver with a plastic sack and beat him with a baton.

Moreover, the suspects stabbed his left leg and stole Rs15,000 from him before fleeing. Later, the victim was shifted to hospital for medical assistance, where his arm was also found fractured, the police said.

Quoting the driver, the police said earlier, the robbers made two failed attempts to rob the house but were forced to flee after the guard resorted to firing.
