In-camera briefing to parliament on Balochistan sought
ISLAMABAD: Former Senate chairman Raza Rabbani has called for an in-camera joint sitting of parliament to address the situation in Balochistan, where dozens of militants went on a rampage on Sunday midnight, targeting civilians and security officials.
Mr Rabbani strongly condemned the recent wave of terrorist attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stressed that these acts, aimed at destabilising Pakistan, would not succeed.
“The nation reiterates its resolve to wipe out all forms of terrorism,” Mr Rabbani affirmed. He urged the government to convene a joint session of parliament, during which an in-camera briefing should be provided on the surge in terrorist activities.
He said the nation stood with security forces and law enforcement agencies, and all manifestations of terrorism would be defeated.
