No Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 6

Johnny Depp has reportedly declined to return as Captain Jack Sparrow for Pirates of the Caribbean 6, even for a staggering $300 million. With Depp’s departure, Disney is on the hunt for a new actor to lead the franchise.

Three top contenders have emerged for the iconic role — Matthew McConaughey, who was considered for the role in the early 2000s, remains a strong candidate due to his charisma and experience. Mads Mikkelsen, known for his versatile acting, could bring a fresh interpretation to the character. Joaquin Phoenix, with his intense performances and Oscar-winning credentials, offers a unique but unconventional option. Disney must decide whether to give Jack Sparrow a new look or steer Pirates of the Caribbean in a different direction without him.

Inside Out series and Incredibles 3 sequel update

Disney has announced two major projects: a new Inside Out streaming series and a sequel to The Incredibles. The Inside Out series, titled Dream Productions, is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2025. It will explore the world introduced in 2015’s Inside Out and its sequel, Inside Out 2, currently in theatres. The sequel stars Amy Poehler and Maya Hawke.

Additionally, Pixar has officially confirmed that The Incredibles 3 is in development, with Brad Bird, the director of the original 2004 movie and its 2018 sequel, returning to helm the project. The voice cast for both the Inside Out series and The Incredibles 3 has not yet been announced.
