CDA’s e-office system to become operational from Sept 2

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority has launched what it said an “efficient, fast and cost effective e-office system” which will be implemented from Monday.

The CDA issued a notification on Friday, stating that on the direction of Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa “all directorates are required to fully implement the e-office system starting

from September 2 (Monday) to enhance administrative efficiency, streamline process and foster a paperless working environment within the organization.”

It added: “All concerned directorate are instructed to ensure that the necessary arrangements, including the training of relevant staff and installation of required infrastructure are completed well before the stipulated deadline.”

Failure to comply with the directive will result in strict disciplinary action against the responsible officers and staff members are per the applicable rules and regulation of the authority.

“All core working and business of CDA will be dealt through e-office now to ensure effectiveness and transparency,” said the CDA chairman.

Speaking to Dawn, he said that the government wanted to promote a paperless environment.

“This system will also help us in bringing transparency as on dashboard, we can monitor movement of the file and timeline,” he said and added that under the system no official can raise irrational objections and also can’t hold the file without any justified reasons.

“I hope this system will bring massive positive change and will help improve efficiency and transparency,” he chief said and added that soon the civic agency will also start providing all its services online.

Member Technology Nauman Khalid told Dawn that the test run of the CDA’s app “My Islamabad” was underway and soon the civic agency will launch it.

He said in the app citizens could get services of 64 directorates of CDA, including their property taxes, water charges, death and birth certificates.

“Citizens could also file complaints and can deposit their fee online,” he said and added that once this app is launched there will be real change in working of CDA and most of the work of the citizens will be resolved without visiting offices.

Mr Nauman added that services of One-Window Operation will also be available in the app.

The services of excise and taxation office etc will also be available in app.

Meanwhile, he said under another project, the land record of the CDA was being digitalised. A six-month project is in progress and almost 30 per cent record of the CDA land and property has already been digitised.
