LAHORE: The city administration officially reduced the notified prices of vegetables on Monday.

According to a spokesperson for the administration, the price of tomatoes was reduced from Rs135 to Rs110 per kg, while the price of potatoes was lowered from Rs90 to Rs88 per kg. The prices of various types of garlic were reduced from Rs390 to Rs385, Rs420 to Rs410, Rs600 to Rs585, and Rs615 to Rs590 per kg, respectively.

The price of aubergines (Bengan) was decreased from Rs220 to Rs155 per kg, cabbage from Rs200 to Rs130 per kg, cauliflower from Rs160 to Rs120 per kg, and green chili from Rs175 to Rs105 per kg. Also, prices for bitter gourd, sponge gourd, Chinese carrots, colocasia, spinach, and bottle gourd were also reduced.

The spokesperson said the drop in vegetable prices is a positive development and assured that efforts to provide relief to citizens are ongoing.

SNGPL teams disconnect 51 illegal connections

GAS: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) teams disconnected 51 illegal gas connections across Punjab.

In Lahore, the SNGPL team severed five connections due to illegal gas usage and another 14 for the use of compressors, imposing fines totalling Rs250,000 for these violations.

In Bahawalpur, the regional team disconnected five connections for illegal gas use and two more for compressor use. The Faisalabad team severed one illegal connection and imposed a fine of Rs200,000.

The Sheikhupura regional team levied a fine of Rs200,000 for gas theft.

In Multan, 11 connections were cut off for illegal gas use, and two more were disconnected due to compressor use.

The Sahiwal team disconnected one connection for compressor use and imposed a fine of Rs230,000 for gas theft.

In Rawalpindi, four connections were severed for compressor use, while two more were disconnected for illegal gas usage.
