191 women police officers ready to join CPEC force in Sindh

KARACHI: The passing-out parade of 191 women police officers, part of a total of 1,351 police officers, took place at the Shahid Hayat Police Training Centre College, Saeedabad, on Thursday.

After completing their training, they will provide security to Chinese nationals linked to CPEC projects in Sindh.

Speaking on the occasion, IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon stated that these recruits would be responsible for protecting Chinese nationals.

He added that all 191 women officers were from Karachi. He expressed hope that the increase in women officers would not only enhance the performance of the police force, but also improve its public image.

He further mentioned that the thana culture was being transformed, with Rs4 billion allocated to police stations, and a model police station being established in each district at a total estimated cost of Rs280 million.

Minister for Home Affairs Ziaul Hasan Lanjar claimed that the situation regarding street crimes in Karachi and banditry in the riverine areas of Sindh had improved. He also emphasised that these recruits were prepared for the protection of CPEC projects.
