The Weeknd’s haunted house debuts at Universal

Universal Studios Hollywood announced The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy, a new haunted house for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, running toll November 3.

This is The Weeknd’s latest contribution, following his 2022 After Hours haunted house. The Nightmare Trilogy will feature The Weeknd’s music and a score by Mike Dean. Other attractions include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Legacy of Leatherface for the film’s 50th anniversary and Enter the Blumhouse, featuring exhibits from M3gan, The Black Phone, Freaky, The Purge, and Happy Death Day.

John Cena: Jackie Chan sets standard for Jackpot!

John Cena, who stars in the upcoming film Jackpot! premiering on Prime Video, praised Jackie Chan as a benchmark for action comedy. Cena plays Noel, a private security guard protecting lottery winner Katie (Awkwafina) from murder attempts, in a world where killing a lottery winner is legal.

Cena admires Chan’s ability to blend high stakes with comedy, a standard he aspires to in Jackpot! In the role, Cena faces comedic yet dangerous situations, including fighting while tied to a chair. Cena enjoys the challenge of playing a “damsel in distress” and appreciates the opportunity to bring a hopeful character to life.

Cena is also filming Season 2 of Peacemaker and continues his WWE career, which he compares to stand-up comedy for its immediate audience feedback.

Trainer’s Pokémon return to TCG in 2025

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) has announced the return of Trainer’s Pokémon, set for early 2025. This feature, which highlights Pokémon owned by iconic trainers, will make a comeback alongside the reintroduction of Team Rocket. Trainer’s Pokémon were last seen regularly during the XY era.

The reintroduction will include cards featuring characters like Marnie, Lillie and N, with Steven Stone also confirmed for upcoming sets. The Pokémon TCG will continue using Pokémon-ex cards. Additionally, The Pokémon Company revealed that Pokémon TCG: Pocket, a new app with digital-only cards and simplified rules, will launch on October 30th. There is also speculation about a later 2025 release for Pokémon Legends: ZA, although no details were given at the Pokémon World Championships.
