Removal of UE Pro-VC explained
LAHORE: The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) says the University of Education pro-vice chancellor was removed from his job over his alleged mishandling of harassment cases.
An HED spokesperson explained in a statement that despite multiple directives, the UE Pro-VC failed to take prompt decisions on these cases.
“Therefore, a probe was also recommended to examine handling of harassment cases by the university; to be conducted through the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT), along with a proposal to assign additional charge of VC to someone outside the organisation in the interest of transparency and fairness in the probe,” the statement read.
The spokesperson claimed that there was no political reason for the removal of the Pro-VC.
