CM Bugti pledges consensus to fix Balochistan’s issues
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said the provincial government will take all parties on board to resolve the issues and challenges facing the province.
Speaking at a reception hosted in honour of PPP Secretary General Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari and other party leaders, Mr Bugti said the government was striving to improve governance in Balochistan.
He has said poor governance, law and order and climate change were Balochistan’s major challenges.
The CM assured “collective efforts” for sustainable development and resolving common challenges of the province.
Providing modern education and the best health facilities were among the key priorities of the provincial government, Mr Bugti said.
He added that President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari wanted speedy development in the province and reiterated his administration’s resolve to improve the education and health sectors.
The CM said “anti-state elements” were behind the unrest in Balochistan and his government has adopted a “concerted approach” against them.
The state’s writ would be established, and no compromise would be made on national security.
Mr Bokhari, speaking on the occasion, said that under the leadership of CM Bugti, the province has formulated a comprehensive development strategy.
The PPP leader directed his party’s MPAs and ministers to ensure development and public service so that voters’ expectations from the party can be fulfilled.
