Rawalpindi chief traffic officer orders crackdown on wrong parking

RAWALPINDI: Chief Traffic Officer Beenish Fatima has issued stern warnings against traffic violations in Rawalpindi, particularly during peak hours and schools dismissal time.

In a meeting at Traffic Police Headquarters, she emphasised the need to crack down on wrong parking, encroachment, and lane discipline violations.

CTO Fatima instructed officers and officials to take swift action against vehicles causing traffic congestion due to improper parking. These vehicles will be promptly lifted and shifted to designated areas, with drivers facing penalties as per regulations.

To prevent vehicle theft, a dumping staff has been appointed to monitor lifted vehicles. The CTO also directed circle in-charges to tackle illegal encroachments and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow.

Additionally, CTO Fatima announced plans for surprise visits to various city roads to enforce compliance. If illegal parking or traffic disruptions are found, disciplinary action will be taken against the relevant lifter in-charge and sector and circle officials.

The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi remains committed to ensuring citizen convenience and smooth traffic flow, and will not tolerate wrong parking or road blockages that cause inconvenience to the public.
