Man gets life term for killing father-in-law

LARKANA: The fourth additional session judge of Larkana on Monday awarded life term to an accused and also imposed on him fine of Rs1 million after he was proved guilty of killing his father-in-law in 2012.

The judge Raj Kumar said in the order the fine would be distributed equally among 10 heirs of the victim, Abdul Ghani Gaad, and in case of failure to pay the penalty, the convict Zulfikar Gaad would have to undergo further six months imprisonment.

The accused had killed his father-in-law in Nazar locality over a domestic dispute on Sept 3, 2012.

The victim’s brother Sultan Ahmed Gaad had registered an FIR (No.67/2012) against the accused at Rehmatpur police station under Sections 302 and 34 PPC.

The convict was whisked away to central prison after announcement of the verdict.

Teenage boy electrocuted

Aijaz Ali Merali, 19, was electrocuted when he got entangled in electricity wires in Vikya Sangi village, 10 kilometres from here on Monday while cutting fodder for the cattle in a field.

He was immediately shifted to the emergency unit of Chanka Medical College Hospital in critical condition where doctors pronounced him dead. The body was handed over to heirs after medico-legal formalities.
