FIA arrests Fesco EXEN as LHC refuses to confirm bail

TOBA TEK SINGH: An executive engineer of the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco), posted at Sargodha, was arrested on Tuesday by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) composite circle team after his plea for confirmation of his bail before arrest was rejected by the Lahore High Court.

The suspect, Muhammad Athar, and his accomplices, also Fesco staffers, were booked by the FIA on the charge of their involvement in electricity theft by some stone crushing units.

Meanwhile, Fesco CEO Eng Muhammad Amer has said industrial consumers are the first priority of Fesco as the industry is backbone of the country’s economy, adding that is why there is zero load management for the industries.

Addressing the hosiery manufacturers and exporters, he said the power-related complaints of their association are being addressed on priority basis to ensure continuous power supply to them.

On the demand of the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association Chairman Mian Farrukh Iqbal, Fesco CEO announced a special focal person will soon be appointed for the sector.

Fesco General Manager (Technical) Amir Mehboob Elahi, General Manager (Customer Services) Rao Hayat, General Manager (Operation) Umar Hayat Gondal, Company Secretary Abid Rasheed and group leader of the association, Haji Salamat were also present.
