SHOT DEAD: A man was allegedly shot dead over old enmity and political rivalry at 154/9-L village of Sahiwal tehsil on Wednesday night.

As per police sources, the victim, Waheed Murad Gujar, was the director of a private dairy farm.

Kameer police have registered a murder case under sections 302, 148 and 149 against the suspects Ali Khursheed, Hamza Khursheed Gujar, Umer Gujar, Saleem Akhter, and their two unidentified accomplices on the complaint of Hafeez, a brother of the victim.

So far none of the suspects could be arrested by the police.

Police sources say the families of Waheed Murad Gujar and Rasheed Gujar developed political rivalry in the last elections as they were supporting the PTI and PML-N candidates, respectively.

They say that two years back, Khrsheed Gujar, an ex-Nazim was murdered by unknown men at the village and the victim’s family had alleged that Waheed Murad Gujar was involved in the killing.

According to the FIR, on Wednesday night six suspects, including Khursheed Gujar’s sons Ali, Hamza and Umar opened indiscriminate fire on Waheed when he was returning to his dairy farm on a motorcycle, leaving him dead on the spot.

The suspects escaped following the murder.

Rescue 1122 officials, who handled the body, say Waheed received multiple bullets in different parts of body.
