Girls top Bannu, Dera HSSC board exam

LAKKI MARWAT/DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two girls clinched the top positions in the higher secondary school certificate examination results declared by the Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan educational boards on Friday.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Bannu, announced the HSSC exam results during a ceremony, where divisional commissioner Abid Wazir, who also holds the charge of BISE chairman, was the chief guest.

Controller of examinations Dr Faiq Jan announced the results.

Maria Zeb, a student of Sadiq Public School and College, Mirali, North Waziristan, clinched the first position by securing 1,107 marks.

Attaur Rehman, a student of Global Science School and College, North Waziristan, and Mohammad Yaseen of Government Higher Secondary School, Mamakhel, Bannu, obtained the second and third positions by getting 1,096 and 1,083 marks, respectively.

The top three position holders belong to the pre-medical group.

The commissioner distributed certificates, shields and cash prizes among the position holders.

Meanwhile, the Dera BISE controller of examinations Dr Qaiser Anwar announced the results at a ceremony on Friday.

BISE chairman Prof Ehsanullah was also present.

Ushna Nadeem of Qurtuba School and College, Dera, clinched the first position by obtaining 1,145 marks. Mohammad Asghar Saif and Mohammad Shahzad of Linz School and College, Dera, bagged second and third positions, scoring 1,144 and 1,136 marks, respectively.
