Robbers, snatchers have a field day in garrison city

RAWALPINDI: As many as 85 individuals in the garrison city fell victims to robbers, car thieves, and burglars, losing 25 motorcycles, three cars, cash, gold jewelry and many mobile phones in a single day.

Police have registered separate cases on Wednesday, but have made no progress in a single case as yet.

Shahzaib, a resident of Scheme 7, lodged an FIR with the Ratta police saying that he was going with his father when they were intercepted by two robbers who snatched Rs175,000 and two mobile phones from them and fled escaped.

Rohail Khan was robbed of his mobile phone and Rs12,000 by two persons on the premises of Benazir Bhutto Hospital.

Ibrar Arshad complained to the police that his motorcycle, mobile phone and Rs26,500 were snatched by three robbers from outside Nawaz Sharif Park.

Mohammad Usman was robbed of Rs50,000 and a mobile phone by two robbers in Sadiqabad, Mohammad Sajid was robbed of Rs 122,000 and two mobile phones by four persons.

Chaudhry Waqar Azeem, a resident of Chaklala Scheme III. complained to the police that his family had gone to Islamabad when some unidentified burglars broke into his house and stole away $1,800 and gold jewelry worth Rs1,350,000.

Ms Hiba Kiani was deprived of a laptop and gold jewellery worth Rs1.250,000 when some unidentified burglars broke into her house in the limit of Sadr Bairooni, Adil Ahmad lodged a similar complaint saying that some unidentified burglars stole away Rs80,000 gold jewellery worth Rs300,000 and laptop and watches worth Rs378,000.
