Three katcha area gangsters killed in Sadiqabad ‘targeted’ operation
RAHIM YAR KHAN: Three katcha area gangsters were killed in a targeted operation near Bhong town of Sadiqabad tehsil, police said on Sunday.
The dacoits were identified as Qadir Baksh Dashti, Daloosh Dasti and Niaz Bakhrani involved in the killing of four constables — Akbar Gopang, Imtiaz, Jahangir and Tariq — during an attack on a police picket near Indus reverine area last month.
After an information that some notorious dacoits were present in Jugnoo Bagh of katha area in Bhong, police surrounded the entire stretch.
A heavy exchange of fire was reported between police and dacoits. In the meantime police sought reinforcement and armoured vehicles.

Police said several dacoits succeeded in escaping to katcha area taking the cover of large sugarcane fields.
District Police Officer Rizwan Umar Gondal said there was no ‘no-go’ area in district Rahim Yar Khan.
He said police were taking all steps to eliminate criminals by using latest technologies and intelligence.
Police spokesperson told this correspondent that there was no hideout of dacoits in the jurisdiction of the district and no kidnapping for ransom had been reported during the last few weeks.
He said, four honey-trap victims were still in the custody of dacoits but they (dacoits) belonged to neighbouring areas of Sindh.
He said, police were trying their best to sensitize people on honey-trap.
He said so far 240 person had been stopped from falling into the trap.
The spokesman said no police officer was involved in providing arms to gangs.
Meanwhile, two dacoits intercepted a motorcyclist near Quetta Hotel on National Highway (N-5) on Sunday evening. When the motorcyclist resisted, the dacoits opened fire and snatched the bike.
Police spokesperson didn’t confirm the incident and said that he would get details from the police station concerned.
