Three bikes torched after clash in Karachi’s Malir
KARACHI: Three motorcycles were set on fire after a clash between two supposed rival groups outside Malir courts on Monday, police said.
Malir SP Saeed Rind told Dawn that a clash had erupted between two groups some months ago in which one person was killed.
On Monday, both the groups arrived at the Malir courts for hearing of the case when another clash broke out between them on the court premises , the SP added.
He said when one side came out from the court; other side was ostensibly waiting for them near Salman Tower on main National Highway. They started fighting with each other and resorted to aerial firing as well. Then they set three motorcycles on fire.
During the clash, traffic remained suspended on the highway as it triggered fear and chaos in the locality, SP Rind said.
Contingents of the police rushed to the spot and arrested 10 suspects from both sides, he added.
