Over 23,900 get ‘A-1 grade’ in matric science exams

KARACHI: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi, (BSEK) announced the results of the much-awaited Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part-II, or matric, examinations for Science Group on Friday evening.

According to the results, Hafiz Abdul Rafay of the Government Boys Secondary School, Karimabad, stood first with total 94.55 per cent marks, Romisa Imran of Al Khalil Model School of Shamsi Society in Malir second with 94.27pc while Rukhsar Binte Abdullah of Little Folks School in Block F of North Nazimabad grabbed the third position with 93.18pc marks.

This year, some 163,012 students registered for the exams and 162,026 appeared in the papers.

The number of boys who appeared for the exams was 85,743 while the number of girls was 77,269. The passing percentage was 81.23.

Candidates who passed with A-1 grade were 23,943 in number while 45,357 passed with A grade. Some 37,595 passed with B grade, 20,837 got C grade, 4,031 got D and 25 got E grade, bringing the number of passing students to 131,788.
