RAWALPINDI: Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) on Monday started work on improving grass and flower beds in Liaquat Bagh.

PHA Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha told Dawn that the civic agency was improving the flower beds and grass before autumn season sets in. However, he said the authority was facing shortage of funds.

Mr Ranjha said Liaquat Bagh, being a historic and cultural centre of Rawalpindi, held immense importance, adding that the park catered to the residents of downtown areas therefore plantation of winter plants and flowers had been started.
