Shopkeeper shot dead, robbers strike at six places in capital

ISLAMABAD: Robbers killed a shopkeeper besides looting cash and valuables worth millions of rupees from six places in the capital, police said on Tuesday.

Mohammad Nadeem, shopkeeper and resident of I-10/1, was returning home on a motorcycle when gunmen intercepted him on I.J. Principal Road, about two kilometres from the Sabzi Mandi police station.

The gunmen shot Nadeem after which he fell on the road and the robbers snatched cash and his mobile phone and escaped.

In another incident, five robbers looted cash and valuables worth over Rs3 million from the house of Abdul Ghafoor at D-12/4. The gunmen held the residents at gunpoint and ransacked the house and looted 10 tola gold worth Rs2.7 million, Rs5,000 cash, iPhone 15 Pro Max worth Rs400,000 and Samsung Ultra 22 worth Rs300,000 and escaped.

Furthermore, a gang of robbers looted cash and valuables from the house of Mahtab Ahmed at Farash Town. Three gunmen raided the house and held up the family at gunpoint. The armed men ransacked the house and looted Rs1 million cash, seven tola gold ornaments, mobile phones and other valuables and escaped.

Moreover, a gang of robbers looted cash Rs870,000, a motorcycle and a mobile phone from Mohammad Wahid at Dhoke Lubna in Golra. The incident took place when Wahid was returning home after collecting the cash from a man whom he had sold his tractor.

Likewise, robbers looted cash, a mobile phone and a motorcycle from a man near a police picket on I.J. Principal Road. Haseeb Gohar told police that the robbers snatched two mobile phones, cash Rs10,000 and his bike and escaped.

Similarly, a gang of robbers looted cash and mobile phones from six people at Dhoke Kala Khan, the police said.

Three gunmen intercepted and held up Ovais Mohammad and his two friends at Dhoke Kala Khan and looted their a mobile phone, cash Rs35,750 from him, a phone and Rs7,000 from Saqib Hussain, a mobile phone and Rs1,750 from Haider Ali, and a phone and Rs4,000 from Zeeshan Ahmed,

At some distance, they also snatched a mobile phone and cash Rs20,000 from Khuram Shahzad and a mobile phone from Jameel Ahmed and escaped, the police added.
