Protest against contract terminations
MUZAFFARGARH: Dozens of male and female employees of the Population Welfare Department protested on Wednesday in Layyah district over the termination of their contracts and non-payment of salaries for the last four months.
The employees alleged that they had not received their salaries for four months, leaving their households in distress and their stoves cold.
They said they were unable to pay electricity bills, claiming they do not even have fare money to commute to work. The protesters announced they would continue their strike, demanding an immediate extension of their contracts.
ENCROACHMENT: Residents are facing difficulties due to the encroachment mafia in Muzaffargarh.
The encroachment problem has become particularly severe in front of the Muzaffargarh District Headquarters Hospital and Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, making it challenging for patients to enter.
Citizens say the carriage mafia has taken over the area outside the first two gates of the district headquarters hospital, forcing patients to access the facility through the last gate due to the permanent closure of the others.
Despite multiple operations against encroachments, no permanent solution has been found to date.
Residents are calling for the removal of encroachments outside the hospitals so that citizens can move freely and access necessary medical care.
