Wild monkeys cause panic in Zafarwal
NAROWAL: Two wild monkeys entered Zafarwal, causing panic among the residents here on Sunday. The monkeys were seen leaping across rooftops, streets and markets, damaging household items. Children and women remained indoors due to the chaos caused by the monkeys’ screeching.
Citizens armed with sticks attempted to chase the monkeys away, forcing them to flee to the trees of the Government High School on Zafarwal Shakargarh Road. Hundreds of onlookers gathered to witness the scene and assist in driving the animals out of the residential area.
Wildlife Department Inspector Abdul Rehman said that the monkeys climbed trees about 35 feet high. Efforts are underway to capture them. Citizens expressed concerns about a previous monkey attack that left one person injured.
