DISTRESSED STUDENTS

DISTRESSED STUDENTS: Every year, thousands of students sit the annual examinations conducted by the Punjab University Law College (PULC). This year, LLB-2 students were surprised to find that the examination paper did not align with the new syllabus, prompting the university to reschedule the exam. Similarly, LLB-1 students were given a Sociology paper intended for LLB-2 students. Following protests by the students, the university ultimately cancelled that paper as well. The unprofessional behaviour of the administration has wasted a lot of resources, and has caused significant distress to the students and their parents.

MASHKAY COLLEGE: Mashkay is a backward tehsil in the Awaran district of Balochistan, where educational facilities have remained inadequate for many years. There is a college, but it functions only on paper as there are no teachers or even essential facilities. Local students are forced to leave their home to acquire further education and fulfil their dreams. There are some teachers appointed to carry out the academic tasks, but they are never found on the premises. Sadly, no one holds them accountable. The government should look into the matter.

HUMAN SLAUGHTER: It has been a year since Israel started war on innocent Palestinians. Now, it has turned to Lebanon. This havoc has killed thousands of people and ruined the peace of the region. Sadly, the strong nations of the world are still silent. Every country wants to protect its own interest. Even the world peacekeeping as well as conflict resolution platforms have failed to stop this unabated human slaughter and to ensure peace in the Middle East. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of innocent people, including women and children, have lost their lives. How long would this brutality continue? Strong nations and peacekeeping organ-isations must take bold steps to eliminate this mass destruction, and promote peace without further delay. This needs to end.
