12 injured in road accident in DG Khan
DERA GHAZI KHAN: A road accident on Indus Highway left 12 people injured near Aali Wala in Dera Ghazi Khan on Wednesday.
A speeding passenger bus from DG Khan to Jampur veered off the road and into nearby fields.
Rescue 1122 dispatched two ambulances, a motorbike ambulance, a fire vehicle, and a rescue vehicle to the scene. Rescuers found 12 passengers injured, and of them, six critically injured were shifted to the Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital, while the remaining six received first aid on the spot.
FREE CAMP: A three-day free surgical eye camp was inaugurated at Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital. MNA Sardar Abdul Qadir Khan Khosa inaugurated the camp, which is being held with the support of the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Al-Shifa Trust.
Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Rahman Amir Qaisrani, Ghazi Khan Medical College Principal Prof Dr Asif Qureshi, Dr Abrar Hussain Khosa, Dr Ali Hashim, OGDL General Manager Muhammad Tayyab, Abdul Rahim and others were present.
The MNA also inaugurated the new eye operation theatre. Dr Qaisrani also visited the bone joint, kidney, and medical wards in the hospital.
He said that after the three-day free camp in the new eye ward, operations will be conducted twice a week on a regular basis. Checkups, cataract operations, medicines, lenses, and spectacles will be provided free of cost.
