Watchman of private school in Swabi held for ‘assaulting’ girl
SWABI: The police have arrested the watchman of a private school in Razaar tehsil for ‘assaulting’ a 12-year-old girl.
They said the incident took place in Adina village in the limits of Kalu Khan police station on Tuesday.
The victim, who is fourth grader, along with her mother and maternal uncle reached the Kalu Khan police station. While filing a report she stated that Liaqat Ali, the school’s watchman, lured her into a room during the closing hour of the school on Tuesday and assaulted her.
After lodging the FIR, DSP Razar circle Mohammad Fayyaz and SHO Kalu Khan police station Abdul Ali Khan arrested the accused during a raid.
Kalu Khan police officials said the medical report of the girl was still awaited.
FOUR KILLED: Four people, including a woman, were killed in separate incidents here on Wednesday, the police and rescue officials said.
A woman from Bamkhel village reported to the Swabi police station that her son, Qasim, stabbed his father, Wakil Khan to death after a brawl over a petty issue. Also, a man died after he was hit by a tractor-trolley on the Swabi-Jehangira Road.
The deceased was identified as Umar Shah, the police said.
Separately, a man was shot dead in Nawazabad locality of Kotha area.
The deceased was identified as Arshad Zeb.
The Topi police registered an FIR against the suspected killer, Qabil Shah of Mohmand tribal district, who was presently living in Nawazabad village, on the complaint of the injured before he succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
The police arrested the accused.
Also on Wednesday, a woman was shot dead in Jalsai village over a children’s fight.
Mukhtaj Ali of Jalsai village reported to the Chota Lahor police station that he along with his wife, 25, and two-year-old daughter, Sumayya Bibi was returning from a hospital after having his daughter checked up there, when Quaid Khan, also of the same village, suddenly appeared on the scene and opened fire on his wife, leaving her critically injured. He said she was taken to Bacha Khan Teaching Hospital, where she succumbed.
Meanwhile, the police investigation revealed that a man, Mir Alam, was killed by his wife and his brother, and that he did not die by suicide as claimed by his wife in the FIR.
The police said Said Alam hatched a plot along with his brother’s wife and killed his elder brother on Oct 9.
Both of them have been arrested.
