ANF recovers over 14kg drugs in five operations

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in five operations across the country recovered over 14kg drugs worth Rs47 million and arrested five suspects, said a spokesman for the force on Saturday.

He said that in one of the operations, 320 grams of hashish was recovered from the possession of a man who was arrested near a university in Haripur. Moreover, seven kg ice was recovered from an area near a university in Quetta and an alleged supplier was arrested. The arrested suspects confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.

The spokesman added that 750 grams of ice was recovered from a Jeddah-bound passenger who was arrested at the Multan airport. Besides, 3kg hashish and 1kg ice were recovered from the possession of a suspect who was rounded up near M-1 Islamabad and 2.4kg hashish was recovered from another suspect held in Dera Ismail Khan.

Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered against the arrested suspects and further investigations are under process, the spokesman added.
