Five of family injured in Bannu gas cylinder blast

LAKKI MARWAT: Five members of a family, including three children, were injured when a gas cylinder exploded inside a house in Bazaar Ahmad Khan area of Bannu district on Sunday.

A Rescue 1122 official said roof of a room caved in as a result of the blast, causing injuries to five people.

He said a rescue team was immediately dispatched to the area when the control room received information about the explosion.

He said the injured included Shadman, 28, Maryum, 25, Taqwa, 6, Haram, 4, and Yehya, 2, who were shifted to the Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital.

In Lakki Marwat, the district administration sealed the outlet of a gas dealer involved in illegal decanting of LPG to public transport vehicles.

The action was initiated by additional assistant commissioner Azmat Ali Khan on the directives of deputy commissioner Fahad Wazir.

Mr Alil paid surprise inspection visits to the bazaars and markets in Serai Gambila town under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s public service agenda.

During the visit, he caught red-handed a dealer selling LPG to the public transport vehicles in violation of relevant laws.

The additional assistant commissioner fined the violator and ordered sealing of his shop.
