ACE arrests patwari accepting bribe
SARGODHA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), under the supervision of a magistrate, arrested a patwari red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs10,000.
Muhammad Amir from village Nali, Khushab district, approached the ACE that Zulqarnain, a patwari in the Revenue Department of Khushab, was demanding a bribe to register an inheritance mutation.
The ACE team raided the patwari’s office under the supervision of Judicial Magistrate Abid Hussain, recovering the marked bills.

He made this statement while inaugurating the 7th International Conference on Applied Zoology (ICAZ 2024) at the University of Sargodha.
The two-day international conference is being organised by the Applied Zoological Society of Pakistan (ASP) in collaboration with the Department of Zoology, with the theme ‘Application of Applied Zoological Sciences to Nurture Green Climate and Sustainable Development’.
Punjab University Vice-Chancellor and ASP President Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said that this conference serves as a platform for young researchers and experts to exchange ideas and find practical solutions to the environmental challenges we face today. He appreciated the efforts of Sargodha University to promote research that aligns with the country’s vision for a green economy.
“The work being done here will inspire a new generation of scientists committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship,” he concluded.
UoS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas said the conference is a testament to our commitment to applying scientific research for the betterment of society.
Vice-Chancellor of Kohsar University Prof Dr Habib Bukhari said that applied zoology offered tools to better understand ecosystems and their complexities, allowing us to make informed decisions that benefit both wildlife and humans.
“The research presented at this conference will undoubtedly contribute to broader discussions on sustainable development and green climate initiatives.”
On the first day of the conference, around 110 research papers were presented, which included five international and 15 national keynote speakers.
Meanwhile, more than 1,300 researchers, scholars, academicians, and zoologists from across the country participated in the conference.
