CM for early completion of PIC-II
LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday visited the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and directed the administration to take measures on a war footing for improvement.
The CM also inquired after the patients and directed the administration for the completion of PIC-II at the earliest to reduce rush of patients. “Immediately appoint administrative head in PIC-II because people cannot be left at the mercy of mafias,” she said.
The CM also directed the relevant authorities to provide the best modern machinery and cath lab in PIC-II. She had a detailed inspection of the emergency ward, and observed the arrival of patients in the triage area and the system of initiation of treatment.
She inspected the air ambulance patient ward. She also visited the patients undergoing treatment in the emergency ward.
She interacted with the patients and doctors, and directed the relevant authorities to immediately resolve their issues. She also expressed displeasure for not providing an emergency wheelchair to an elderly patient. She later visited the elderly patient in the ward and witnessed the treatment herself. She stopped the security personnel from interfering in the movement of patients.
Earlier, the PIC executive director gave a detailed briefing to the CM on revamping plan and other issues of the hospital.
She directed the hospital administration to take strict action against the corrupt elements who were causing trouble for the people.
