MUZAFFARABAD: Acknowledging the transportation challenges faced by police stations across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the government has provided new 4x4 single-cabin vehicles to 19 police stations in the first phase of a broader plan to upgrade the force’s logistics.

At a brief ceremony held outside his office on Wednesday, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq handed over the keys to Deputy Inspector General of Police (Rangers & Reserve) Dr Liaqat Ali.

Information Minister Pir Mazhar Saeed, other cabinet members, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Rana Abdul Jabbar were also present on the occasion.

According to an official press release, two police stations each in Muzaffarabad, Jhelum Valley, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, Sudhnoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur and one police station in Haveli district will get these 19 vehicles.
