Army, Wapda reach final

KARACHI: Pakistan Army, Wapda and Balochistan won their respective matches of the KPT seventh National Men’s Softball Championship here at the KPT ground on Thursday.

Army and Wapda after winning the matches qualified for the final.

Army defeated Sindh 15-0 with Waseem scoring three runs while Aftab, Ali, Hamza, Ali Raza and Umair added two apiece. Saqib, Azam, Shehzad and Faqeer contributed a run each.

Wapda defeated Pakistan Police 14-5 as Abid and Waseem made three runs each for the winners. Zak­ir and Ehtisham added two runs apiece. Fazal, Saw­ood, Noman and Haris contributed one run each.

For Police, Umer scored two runs while a run apiece was made by Shahid, Raqeeb and Saleem.

In the third day’s third match, Balochistan edged past Sindh 15-14.

Waheed, Arsalan and Kashif collected three runs each for the winning side. Waqar and Viro Aziz made two runs apiece while Basit and Adan added one each.

For Sindh, Shahrukh Khan scored three runs; Sheraz, Saad, Arbaz and Saadat contributed a couple each while Shahzaib, Zaheer and Kamran added one run apiece.
