PDMA releases Rs360m for families affected by army operation
PESHAWAR: Provincial Disaster Management Authority on Thursday released Rs360 million for the families affected by military operation Zarb-i-Azb in North Waziristan.
A notification issued by the PDMA office here said that the funds would be distributed among 18,000 affected families as monthly stipend along with money for ration.
It said that the affected registered and verified families would start receiving the allocated amount through mobile SIM card messaging system in a couple of days.
It said that the current amount was the 120th instalment of the allocated funds for those affected registered families who had not yet returned to their homes while these funds were provided to them on monthly basis.
The notification said that every family would get Rs12,000 as monthly stipend while additional Rs8000 would be given to them for food ration.
It said that so far Rs52 billion had already been distributed among the affected families.
It further said that as many as 110,000 families were displaced due to the military operation Zarb-i-Azb out of which 95 per cent had so far returned to their homes while 18,000 families were still awaiting their return.
It said that around 2,000 of these displaced families were currently residing in the Bakkakhel TDPs camp while the rest had taken refuge in scattered parts and cities of the country. Most of these families belonged to Madakhel and Zoey Saidgi localities of Dattakhel in North Waziristan.
