Carpentry shop set ablaze in Salarzai tehsil

BAJAUR: A carpentry shop in the hilly area of Salarzai tehsil was destroyed late on Saturday night after it was allegedly set on fire by unidentified individuals.

Police and locals said that unidentified culprits set a shop in the Chowarak neighbourhood on fire. The top and walls of the woodworking shop owned by a local citizen Faridullah fell, leaving it entirely reduced to ashes, according to the locals.

The local residents mentioned that the affected carpenter, who had no personal enmity with anyone in the area, depended on that shop for his livelihood. To help him rebuild, they appealed to the district’s wealthy people and the provincial government to provide financial support.

Meanwhile, an official of police station concerned told Dawn that they launched an investigation into the incident.
