Man shot dead on way to market
LAHORE: A young man was allegedly shot dead by an unknown armed man in Gulshan-i-Iqbal area when he was going to a local market for shopping for his wedding ceremony which was fixed next month.
Identified as Ahsan Ali, the young man died instantly as the attacker had fired a single bullet in his head.
An official said the victim’s family told the police that Ahsan’s marriage was fixed for next month and he was running a tuck shop near Thokar Niaz Beg.
Quoting Hamza Talib, he said, on the day of incident his younger brother Ahsan went to a market for the shopping for his wedding along with some of his family members.
Suddenly, he said, an unknown man approached Ahsan and borrowed from him a bottle of petrol from the tank of his bike.
As Ahsan was re-filling the bottle from his bike, the unknown armed man suddenly fired a shot in his head and fled the scene, he said, adding that his brother died instantly.
The official said Hamza and other family members were unaware of the identity of the attacker and motive behind the murder.
The police lodged a murder case against the unknown man on the complaint of Hamza and launched investigations.
