Plan finalised for biennial defence show IDEAS 2024

KARACHI: Reviewing the arrangements for the upcoming International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has stated that the mega event will strengthen Pakistan’s strategic relationships with international partners.

He made these remarks while addressing the 3rd Steering Committee meeting for the 12th Edition of IDEAS 2024. Provincial ministers, Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO) chief Major General Asad Nawaz Khan, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, and representatives from federal ministries, the Sindh government, armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders attended the meeting.

CM Shah convened the meeting to finalise comprehensive plans for the upcoming IDEAS 2024, set to take place from November 19 to 22 at Karachi Expo Centre.

He said, “Today’s meeting is pivotal, allowing us to assess and ensure alignment with the plans presented by various organisations and departments.”

He also reaffirmed his government’s full support and cooperation in all areas necessary to bring this extraordinary event to life.

“The event, in line with tradition, will feature a range of remarkable activities, including demonstrations of cutting-edge defence technology, international seminars, cultural shows, and business expansion opportunities through organised business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) engagements,” he said.

He also announced that the Karachi Show, dedicated exclusively to city residents, would be held at Seaview (Nishan-i-Pakistan) on November 21.

He added that this biennial event has evolved into a renowned gathering, showcasing state-of-the-art technology and fostering knowledge exchange within Pakistan and beyond.

The CM highlighted that IDEAS is now recognised worldwide, a testament to Pakistan’s deep-rooted and mutually beneficial relationships with international partners.

“It provides a shared platform dedicated to advancing global peace, stability, and prosperity, bringing together foreign delegates, defence manufacturers, and thought leaders to discuss today’s defence and security challenges,” he said.
