Dengue patient dies in HFH
RAWALPINDI: A dengue patient died in Holy Family Hospital (HFH) on Tuesday while 141 new cases were reported in government-run hospitals.
There were reports of two dengue patients dying on Tuesday including a policeman. However, Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) Medical Superintendent Dr Tahir Rizvi told Dawn that there was no death reported due to dengue in the hospital.
He said the policeman was suffering from other diseases and was not a dengue patient. However, he said as the patient was admitted to Intensive Care unit, it confused people.
On the other hand, a woman dengue patient died at Holy Family Hospital on Tuesday.
The woman, 32, a resident of Taxila, was suffering from dengue fever for the last one week and had been admitted to the hospital a day ago.
As many as 141 denguepatients were reported from Rawalpindi district, taking the tally to dengue patients in the current season to 4,427.
On Tuesday, 319 patientslandedinthree government-run hospitals while 141 tested positive for dengue.
A total of 270 denguepatientsare in hospitals, out of which 77 were in Holy Family Hospital (HFH), 68 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 44 were at Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital and 27 in Fauji Foundation Hospital. As many as 54 patients were admitted to private hospitals.
