PESHAWAR: The city police have booked four persons on charges of stripping a transgender individual on film and later using the same as a blackmailing tactic to rape her.

Shaheed Gulfat Hussain (Hashtnagri) police station have registered the FIR on the complaint of the transgender person against the prime accused, Imran, his brother Yasin, Abdullah and Sher Khan, residents of Mian Kallay village of Shabqadar tehsil of Charsadda. Besides, three to four unknown persons have also been charged in the FIR.

The complainant told the police that back in 2023 Imran picked her up from a dance function in Mian Kallay village of Shabqadar and took her to his hujra, where he and his accomplices, including Abdullah, Sher Khan and others, stripped her at gunpoint and made video of her. She said afterwards Imran used the video to blackmail her for about five to six months to rape her.

“The accused also tortured her and extorted money from her, threatening to release the video,” she said, adding the accused shared the same video on social media on Oct 29, 2024.
