BNP withdraws strike call after Mastung bomb blast
QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) has withdrawn its province-wide wheel-jam strike call given for Nov 2 in view of Friday’s bomb blast in Mastung which left eight people dead.
The BNP-Mengal has been holding protest rallies and observing strikes against registration of a terrorism case against the party leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal and arrest of the party’s two other leaders.
The party announced on Friday that it has withdrawn the strike call because of the Mastung bomb blast and now the people are requested to observe a three-day mourning instead of the strike across Balochistan.
The BNP leaders directed party members and workers to give maximum support to the people injured in the bomb blast and stand with the families of those who have lost their loved ones in the tragedy.
The party said a new date for the postponed wheel-jam strike call will be announced later.
It expressed profound sorrow over the tragic incident in Mastung. Condemning the attack in the strongest terms, the party described the bomb blast as a heartbreaking incident that demands immediate justice. The party urged the government to hold to account those responsible for the tragedy.
