IHC’s Justice Babar not to proceed with planned leave
ISLAMABAD: Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has chosen not to proceed with his planned leave and will continue hearing cases according to the regular court schedule, Dawn has learnt through sources.
Justice Sattar, who had been on leave from September 30 to October 29, initially informed the court administration of his unavailability from November 4 to November 21.
However, recent updates from the registrar’s office confirm that he has decided to remain on duty, and the court has subsequently issued the cause list with cases assigned to his bench.
Justice Sattar’s work has gained public attention due to his involvement in sensitive cases.
Earlier, he and five other judges submitted a letter detailing incidents of harassment by intelligence agencies.
Justice Sattar is currently presiding over the audio leak case, which involves allegations of unauthorised surveillance by state agencies.
Justice Sattar had previously submitted a complaint to IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, highlighting that he was being targeted due to his stance in the audio leak case.
