Police rescue kidnapped businessman after 20 days
SARGODHA: The Satellite Town police in Sargodha have rescued a local businessman who was kidnapped nearly 20 days ago on Oct 14 for a ransom of Rs100 million and arrested the alleged kidnappers.
The operation was led by CIA Station House Officer Rao Arif to recover Rafique.
The kidnappers contacted his family, demanding the substantial ransom. In a related twist, Rafique’s son publicly accused another businessman, Naseem, of orchestrating the kidnapping.
Mr Naseem, in a voice message, denied the allegations, claiming he was being harassed to avoid paying Rs160 million. He also alleged that his adversary spread doctored videos of him on social media.
HELD: The police recovered cash and a weapon linked to recent bank robberies in Islamabad.
The arrested suspect, reportedly affiliated with a religious political party, allegedly used the sophisticated weapon during the heists.
Police withheld details as they are after the suspect’s accomplices.

The truth emerged during funeral preparations when signs of strangulation were noticed.
Bhalwal City police stated that Faisal Naveed, a resident of Chak 14-SB, allegedly killed his wife, Kainaat, in an honour-related incident.
The deceased’s maternal uncle informed the police that a woman preparing the body for burial discovered marks around her neck, indicating she had been strangled.
Bhalwal police have registered a case under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and launched an investigation.
