Literary session held in Karak
PESHAWAR: Sadiq Adabi Jirga arranged a literary function and a poetry session in honour of Sarwar Mahmood Khattak, the jirga’s vice-president in Karak district the other day.
The function was held in Teri area. Pashto poetry collection ‘Da Shahbaz Manzil’ was also launched.
The event comprised two sessions presided over by Saadat Sahar, a famous Pashto poet, writer and researcher from Lachi tehsil of Kohat district.
On this occasion, jirga president Prof Aziz Qureshi presented his paper on ‘Da Shahbaz Manzil’ and described Sarwar Khattak as a poet, who expressed Pashtun values in the light of his Pashtun, Pashtunwali and poetic thoughts.
Former MNA Shamsur Rahman Khattak appreciated Sarwar Khattak’s welfare spirit and called it a prominent aspect of his personality.
The speakers shed light on Sarwar Khattak’s poetry and personality.
In the jirga’s second session, a Mushaira was held in which Israr Sufi, Tabassum Khattak, Amir Hamza Bawar, Iftikhar Sharar, Mubarak Qurban, Usman Saba Khattak, Aziz Qureshi, Syed Akbar and Atif Anokhi presented their pieces.
In his concluding remarks, Sarwar Khattak thanked all the guests and members of the jirga for attending the event.
