Bushra seeks acquittal in Toshakhana case
RAWALPINDI: Bushra Bibi, the wife of ex-premier Imran Khan, sought acquittal in Toshakhana case on Tuesday.
When Judge Shahrukh Arjumand resumed case proceedings at Adiala Jail, Barrister Salman Safdar, representing both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, sought additional time to submit documents to support their acquittal applications, arguing that these documents were essential to prove their clients’ innocence.
However, the FIA opposing the acquittal pleas argued they were another attempt to stall the indictment process. “The court should proceed with filing an indictment against both the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi,” the prosecutor stated.
Judge Arjumand adjourned the hearing till Nov 8, directing both sides to complete arguments on the acquittal pleas on the date.
Meanwhile, Mr Khan, through his lawyer Faisal Chaudhry, filed a contempt plea in the IHC against interior secretary, Punjab home secretary and Adiala Jail Super-intendent for denying his meetings with family.
