BISP to start vocational training initiative

ABBOTTABAD: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid stated that a programme would soon be introduced to provide deserving individuals with vocational and technical training.

“Encouraging skill education will improve these families’ financial circumstances,” she made these remarks at a gathering to inaugurate the BISP tehsil office in Lower Tanawal on Wednesday.

“We have to hold the hand of the poor and pull them out of the mire of poverty,” she remarked.

Senator Rubina Khalid said the BISP’s financial assistance would close the gap between impoverished households’ income and expenses.

She said that President Asif Ali Zardari deserved praise for the 9.3 million worthy women who participated in the programme.

She said that for joining the programme, it was necessary to make birth certificates of children.

She said that the Sindh government had abolished birth registration fee for this purpose.

BISP chairperson also inaugurated Begum Nusrat Bhutto Shaheed road in the area.

Later, the chairperson also met with the Benazir Income Support Programme staff. During the meeting, she listened to the staff’s difficulties and reaffirmed her resolve to address the problems.

She interacted with the deserving women present in the office and listened to their problems.
