Cylinder blast victim succumbs to burns
BAHAWALPUR: A 20-year-old girl who was injured in a gas cylinder blast succumbed to her burns in the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, on Thursday.
Nafeesa had suffered serious burns in the fire that erupted after a gas cylinder blast in her house in the suburbs of Chamb Mor near Jalapur Peerwala in Lodhran district. She was shifted to Nishtar Hospital last night in precarious condition.
The LPG cylinder in her kitchen had caught fire due to leakage before exploding last night.
SENTENCED: The district and sessions judge in Multan sentenced to life term a man convicted of murder. The convict was imposed a fine of Rs0.5m also.
Convict Munir had killed Allah Ditta in 2015 over a dispute in the Makhdum Rashid Police Station area. The fine amount would be paid to the heirs of the deceased.
RAPE CASE: A man allegedly abducted a girl from Chak 357/EB in the limits of Gaggo Police Station in Vehari district and raped her for six months.
According to the victim, she was kept in illegal confinement by the suspect where he raped her. In his complaint, the victim’s uncle told the police that his niece escaped from the suspect’s house on finding an opportunity after a six-month long ordeal.
Gaggo police registered a rape case against the suspect who was yet to be arrested. The victim was referred to the Burewala THQ Hospital for medical examination.
ARRESTED: Vehari police claim to have arrested 67 people in October during a crackdown for violation of smog standard operating procedure.
In a press release, the PRO said that cases were registered against the arrested people with various police stations.
In addition, police claimed to have arrested eight persons for stubble burning on Thursday.
