HARIPUR: Spurious liquor kills 3 villagers

HARIPUR, April 9: Three people died and another one hospitalised after consuming spurious liquor in village Darvesh here on Sunday. Police said that four villagers consumed the home-made liquor on Saturday evening, and soon after they fell sick and their condition kept deteriorating.

One of them, Muhammad Asif, died before he could be given any medical aid.

The other three men were taken to the DHQ hospital where Raja Muneer, died and Waqas and Nabeel were referred to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad.

Waqas was pronounced dead in the Ayub Medical Complex, and the condition of Nabeel was stated to be critical.

Police said that the deceased had bought the liquor from a local drug seller.

Police have arrested the drug-sellers, Masood and his brother Mehmood, and registered a case against them under section 322, 337-L.
