Bullet-riddled body of Pims doctor found on motorway

TAXILA: Tortured and bullets riddled body of a Pakistan Institute of medical Sciences (PIMS) doctor was found on Islamabad-Peshawar motorway (M-1) near Dhoke Pannu in Thatta Khalil area in the limits of Taxila Police station on Friday.

Police sources said that some passerby spotted the body of a man in the pool of blood lying in the area and informed the police who shifted the body to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Later, the deceased was identified as Dr Abdullah Niaz, a native of Peshawar, who was presently serving as medical officer at Pims.

Police investigating staff believed the man was killed somewhere else and later his body was thrown in the area to conceal the crime. Police have registered a case and launched further investigation.

Meanwhile, police have arrested a seminary teacher in Fatehjang on Friday after he was accused of trying to sexually assault a 12-year-old boy.

According to the FIR registered with the Fatehjang police station, a resident of the area and tailor by profession lodged a complaint that his son used to go to the seminary located within the premises of a mosque to memorise the Quran.

The victim’s father said on Friday, the boy returned home crying. When asked he revealed that his teacher tried to rape him in the washroom. The teacher was then arrested after the FIR was registered.
