Man kills wife, son over petty dispute in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: A man allegedly killed his wife and son, and injured his daughter over a petty dispute in Dilzak area here on Sunday, the police said.

Saro Kallay police station officials said that Sawira, a daughter of the accused, Zarbat Khan, reported that her father opened fire on her mother, Shagufta, and brother, Faisal, early in the morning, killing them on the spot. She said that her father also shot at and injured her.

The complainant said that the accused managed to escape after the double murder. She told the police that the reason behind the murders was a petty dispute.

The police registered a report of double murder against the accused on the complaint of his injured daughter, and started further investigations. The bodies were brought to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Shabqadar, for postmortem.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed over a money dispute in the limits of Umarzai police station here on Sunday.

Mehran, a brother of one of the deceased, Faisal Qureshi of Sokhta Mandani area, got registered a report with the Umarzai police, stating that Zaitul Amin of Sarrah Mokha area and Haroon Shah of Kohat Road, Peshawar, called his brother on mobile phone and invited him to a hotel on Harichand Road near Amirabad Bridge.

The complainant said that the two persons had a money dispute with his brother. “During the meeting, a heated argument ensued between his brother and the other two persons. “Afterwards, they opened fire at each other. As a result of the firing, Amin was injured and later died,” Mehran said, adding that later his brother, Qureshi was kidnapped by one Bahadur of Sarrah Mokha area, along with other unknown suspects, in a car.

He said that his mother had also approached the police against suspects, Bahadur and his other accomplices, for kidnapping her son. The complainant said that the next day, the bullet-riddled body of his brother was found dumped along the banks of River Jindi in Shamlat Sherpao area.

The police registered a report against Bahadur and other unknown accomplices on the complaint of the deceased’s brother.

Earlier, Haroon Shah also got registered a report, stating that they had a dispute over Rs2 million with Qureshi, and that a jirga was held to settle the matter. He said during the jirga, a verbal altercation occurred, after which Qureshi opened fire on Amin, killing him on the spot.

The police registered a report on the complaint of Shah and started investigations.
